FROZEN ROSA MARGARITA: Jose Cuervo & Voodoo Doughnuts
Frozen, blended cocktails are easy, delicious and let's be honest, an easy hit at any bar or party. One thing I often fantasize about when I'm busy working and running around is vacation. You know that feeling after you get off the plane and find yourself sipping frozen daiquiris, pina coladas and margaritas in the sun - I mean, what's better than a blended, fruity cocktail...add a pool or the beach? Come on.
Well, sadly, it's a fantasy and a vacation to a warm beach or pool is not in my near future so instead I'm bringing the vacation dreams to my home. Along with Jose Cuervo and Voodoo Doughnut I've teamed up to share a delicious recipe for #nationalmargaritaday - a FROZEN ROSA MARGARITA featuring Jose Cuervo Especial Silver Tequila.
Here's a shopping list of what you'll need:
1 small pink grapefruit (garnish)*
1 box Kosher salt or flake salt
6 large pink or ruby red grapefruit*
4-6 limes (get extra to ensure enough juice)*
1 750ml Triple Sec
1 bag ice
4 highball glasses
Juicer or fork
1 measuring cup
*THIS YIELDS ABOUT 4 GLASSES SO BUY MORE TO MAKE SEVERAL BATCHES.
Shop and plan ahead and get everything ready for your margarita making. The best part about this recipe is you can make these in large batches. Another plus is that all of the ingredients go into the blender and in a few seconds your cocktail is made. There is very little room for error.
FROZEN “ROSA" MARGARITA
THIS RECIPE YIELDS ABOUT 4 GLASSES SO DOUBLE OR TRIPLE FOR LARGER BATCHES
Grapefruit wheels for garnish (quartered)
Kosher salt or flake salt to rim glasses
8 to 10 oz freshly squeezed pink or ruby red grapefruit juice (4 large)
4 oz freshly squeezed lime juice (4 limes)
8 oz Triple Sec
You will need 4 highball glasses and a blender.
Prepare your glasses:
Take a wedge of lime and rim the edge of each glass. Invert glass onto a plate of salt and turn to coat the entire rim with salt.
In blender combine grapefruit and lime juices, ice, Triple Sec, Jose Cuervo Tequila. Blend together until the texture is blended and smooth.
Pour into salted glasses and garnish with a grapefruit triangle.
